Crystal Skull Part 3 – Story Level 5: Akator Ambush

LEVEL ENTRANCE: Start with Oxley, since his Crystal Skull repels ants. Climb the steps to the base of the large pyramid and punch the gray pillar with the white LEGO skull. Pick up the gold key and use it to turn the mechanism on the right, extending the stairs on the side of the pyramid.

Now use Indiana Jones and any character with a projectile weapon. Climb to the top of the pyramid and remove all the little gray bricks by shooting them, whipping the orange rings and hanging on the brown spears. When you've destroyed all of them, the sand drains away so you can drop into the next level. See the Hub Maps and Story Level Intro for details and screenshots.

Circular Chamber with Crumbling Floor

This level is basically an extended final boss fight against Agent Spalko. In phase one, she uses the power of the interdimensional beings to lift up a huge chunks of rock and smash them down on your characters. Try to move out of the way when you see them coming.

Before taking on Spalko, run around the room gathering studs. If you're playing solo, use Marion here since she can quickly jump up onto the ledges and take the studs from the thrones. There are also 2 purple studs at the right edge of the broken floor, which should give you "True Adventurer" almost immediately.

Now, to deal with Spalko. You can't defeat her directly, but you can take away her weapons. Wait for her to slam down one of the boulders. Then run up to it, jump on top and step on one of the 2 red buttons. Quickly switch to the other character and have him or her do the same. Once both buttons turn green, immediately jump off as Spalko raises the boulder and smashes it down again, creating a hole in the middle of the floor. Watch out for the hole as you repeat the same tactics for the remaining 3 boulders.

When all 4 boulders have been destroyed, a short cut scene plays and our heroes are transported to another room.


Long Walkway with Huge Gears

In the next phase, Spalko has used the alien energy to grab 4 more boulders, which she is spinning around like a ferris wheel. Don't stand underneath them as they come down or your characters will be crushed. She also shoots a blue energy beam. Avoid it if you can by dodging out of the way or hiding behind the rock with the high-jump flower icon.

If you're playing alone, start with Marion. Climb onto the rock and jump onto one of the boulders as it passes by. Step on one of the red buttons to turn it green. Then switch to Indy. Have him stand just to the right of the rock with the flower icon. Then use his whip to grab the orange ring on the underside of one of the moving boulders. Grab onto any of them except the one where Marion is standing and ride it up and around. When Indy is dangling just above the boulder with Marion on it, press the Use button to let go and drop down next to her. Step on the second button to turn it green. Then immediately jump away as the boulder explodes.

Repeat the same process with 2 more boulders: Have Marion jump on first and step on one red button. Indy can then hide behind the rock to avoid the blue energy beam while he waits for the next boulder to come around. Then make him lasso the orange ring, ride up, drop onto the boulder next to Marion, and press the second button.

When there's only one boulder left, it rides a little lower as it comes around. So both characters should be able to jump on top. Then just step on the 2 buttons to destroy it. This triggers another brief cut scene in which Indy and Marion flee, only to be trapped in a water-filled tower by the angry Agent Spalko.


Flooded Pit

Marion and Indy are trapped on a narrow, curved ledge across a flooded pit from the crazed Spalko. Try to avoid her blue energy beams as they sweep from side to side along the ledge. Run to either side and grab a bazooka from one of the racks. (Obviously if you're playing co-op, both characters can take one.)

Firing at Spalko does no good, so concentrate on hitting the boulders she plucks from the walls with her energy tentacles. You can aim with the targeting reticule or just face toward the center of the room and fire when Spalko moves a boulder into the middle. When your bazooka runs out of rockets and disappears, just run to the nearest rack and take another one.

Each time you destroy a boulder, a flare of red energy shows that Spalko is taking damage. Once you've destroyed 6 boulders, she is defeated and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull story ends.
