Nintendo DS - Last Crusade Level 6: Temple of the Grail

Area 1: Temple Entrance

Blow out the 2 torches flanking the staircase to reveal artifact piece (1/10). When you climb the stairs, the exit opens automatically. Go through.

Area 2: Grail Trials – Blade Room

Run carefully past each of the 3 swinging blades. Push the wall button to stop the blades so the other character can pass safely. Jump over each of the spinning blades as it moves away. Push the second wall button to stop the blades. Continue to the right. Just before the next set of swinging blades, smash the boulder and have Sallah dig up the bits to build another wall button. Push it to raise the blades so you can pass safely.

FREE PLAY: Build a scholar access panel and use it to open the door with the carved shield. Inside, smash the boulder on the left to get map piece (1/3). Build a crank near the middle of the room. A brief cut scene shows the carved panels on the wall. Note the sequence and turn the crank to point the sword on the pedestal toward the coffins with same carvings as the wall panels: castle, horse, skull. Doing this reveals the red brick. Grab it and return to the main area.

Build a whip pad and use Indy's whip to pull the lever to stop the spinning blades. Continue to the right. At the 2 pairs of spinning blades, stand facing the set farther from the wall. Wait for the blades to approach. Then, as they move away, run after them, following the line of studs. When the blades nearer the wall pass you, veer into the other lane, where those blades were, and continue following the studs to the other side of the trap.

Push the wall button to stop the blades. Dig up the sparkling area to reveal a large square button. Have both characters stand on it to open the exit.

Area 3: Grail Trials – Fire Room

Build a whip pad and use it to pull the box with handles along the checkerboard tiles toward you. Use it to climb over the first set of flames. Then pull the box beneath the alcove with artifact piece (2/10) and climb up to get it. Now push the box all the way to the right and use it to climb over the second set of flames. Press the wall button to extinguish the fire. Continue to the right.

FREE PLAY: Before leaving this area, use the BOTCS access panel to open the door with the carved shield. Inside, smash the boulders to get a blue brick (1/3). Drop it on the blue pad nearby. Use the loose LEGO bits to build a crawlspace. Toggle to a small character and go through. Grab another blue brick (2/3) on the ledge above, hop down and drop the brick on the pad. Grab the dangling rope, climb up a bit and jump to the ledge on the left, where you'll find the last blue brick (3/3). Place it on the pad. Use the bits you get to repair the bell and reveal artifact piece (3/10). Grab it and return to the main area and exit on the right.


Area 4: Grail Trials - Pit

As you enter this cavern, a brief cut scene shows a series of carved symbols high on the far wall. To cross the deep pit, hop across the break-away tiles making sure to only step on the symbols shown in the sign: U, +, <>, O. These tiles are safe. On the other side of the pit, proceed straight ahead.

Area 5: Grail Trials – Moving Blocks

Move carefully along the narrow ledge, running past the moving blocks as they retract. When you've cleared the blocks, climb onto the ledge in the background and then hop across the tops of the moving blocks to the left to reach artifact piece (4/10), in a little alcove just above the block nearest the entrance. Climb onto the ledge above and follow it back to the right and continue through the exit.

FREE PLAY: Before leaving this area, use the Thuggee access panel to open the door with the carved shield. Inside, follow another narrow ledge past another set of moving blocks. Build a whip pad and use it to climb onto the ledge above, where you'll find artifact piece (5/10).

Stand at the edge of the ledge facing left. Wait for the nearest block to descend and then jump on top of it. Carefully hop across the tops of the moving blocks to reach artifact piece (6/10) on the ledge above the entrance. Hop down, return to the main area and exit on the right.


Area 6: Grail Trials – Room with Slamming Door

Smash the boulders in the near right corner to get map piece (2/3).

When you approach the door in the background, it slams shut, and part of the ceiling collapses, smashing the rock pile on the left. Use the pile of LEGO bits left behind to build a heavy crate. Push it along the checkerboard floor to position it under the door. Then walk forward to slam the door on the crate, leaving behind another pile of bits. Use these to build a whip pad. Use Indy's whip to grab the carved block and pull it under the door. Now you can exit without getting squashed.

FREE PLAY: Before leaving this room, dig up the sparkling area on the right and build a bull's-eye target. Shoot it or throw a bottle at it to break the column and smash a hole in the wall. Go through to a small side room. Smash the boulders to obtain bits for a whip pad and map piece (3/3). If you picked up the other maps earlier, you'll also get artifact piece (7/10) now.

When you build the new pad, there will be 4 whip pads in all. Use Indy's whip to pull down the 4 coffins, revealing several studs and artifact piece (8/10). Take the goodies, return to the previous room and exit through the doorway in the background.


Area 7: Grail Trials – Leap of Faith

Grab the blue brick (1/3) and place it on the nearby blue pad. Use the whip pad to pull down a stone column, creating a bridge so you can cross the chasm to the right. Have Sallah dig in the sparkling area to unearth another blue brick (2/3). Carry it to the blue pad as well.

Smash all the boulders in this area. The one in the foreground conceals artifact piece (9/10). You'll also find blue brick (3/3) and the bits to build another whip pad. Leave the brick for now.

Use the whip pad to climb onto the ledge above. Go through the tunnel in the background. Sallah will appear automatically in the next room. There's one dangling rope here already. Pull the 2 levers to lower 2 more ropes. Climb the rope on the left and jump across the other 2 ropes to reach artifact piece (10/10) in the alcove on the right. Return to the main area and hop down near the entrance.

Carry the last blue brick, which you should have found earlier, to the blue pad. Use the LEGO bits to build a ledge. As you step out onto it, it continues to build itself, forming a bridge across the chasm to the exit. Go through to finish the level and the game. Congratulations!
