This page lists all of the characters in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 1, in the order they appear on the playset and pause menus, along with their special abilities and items (if any) and how to unlock them. Below the list are screenshots showing where each purchased character can be found. For more info, including a complete character list for the entire game, see the main Characters page.
Indiana Jones (Crystal Skull)
Ability: None Equipment: Whip Cost: Free
One of the first two characters you control in the game. Unlocked automatically.
Mac
Ability: None Equipment: Pistol Cost: Free
One of the first two characters you control in the game. Unlocked automatically.
Janitor
Ability: None Equipment: Broom Cost: Free
Unlocked automatically after completing the Hangar Havoc Story Level.
Mutt
Ability: Repair Equipment: Wrench Cost: Free
Unlocked automatically after completing the Café Chaos Story Level.
Russian (U.S. Disguise)
Ability: Security Clearance Equipment: Pistol Cost: 15,000 studs
After completing the Doom Town Story Level, head for the open army base at the bottom of the hub map. Several disguised Russian soldiers will attack. Fight them until one appears with a question mark icon over his head. Hit this soldier a few times and you'll be given the opportunity to unlock him. (If you can't afford him right away, return later when you have more studs.)
Russian Digger
Ability: Excavate Equipment: Shovel Cost: 30,000 studs
First unlock the Sabre Jet (as described on the Vehicles page). Then get in and fly to the left. As you pass over the Hangar 52 area, jump out of the plane to land inside the fence. Fight the squad of Russian diggers that emerges until you meet one with a question mark icon. Once you defeat him, you can unlock him.
Hangar Guard
Ability: Security Clearance Equipment: Pistol Cost: 15,000 studs
When you beat the Whack-a-Prairie-Dog Challenge (see Races & Challenges), this character appears across the road near the gas station.
Agent
Ability: None Equipment: Pistol Cost: 25,000 studs
After completing the Motorbike Mayhem Story Level, return to the area where Mutt repaired the bike (i.e., near the entrance to the Bike Hike Treasure Level). Soon a group of Russian agents will attack. After fighting them, you'll be able to unlock the last one.
Brawler
Ability: None Equipment: None Cost: 20,000 studs
After completing the Café Chaos Story Level, follow the street to the right toward the college. Several brawlers attack. Fight them and you'll then be able to unlock this character.
College Female
Ability: High Jump Equipment: None Cost: 30,000 studs
After beating the Fridge Race (see Races & Challenges), return to the café in College Town to find and unlock this character.
Greaser
Ability: none Equipment: none Cost: 15,000 studs
After beating the Hotrod Race (see Races & Challenges), return to the start of the race and you'll find the Greaser and Professor Stanforth on the street near the college.
Stanforth
Ability: Academic Equipment: Book Cost: 40,000 studs
See Greaser, above.
General Ross
Ability: None Equipment: Bazooka Cost: 35,000 studs
After winning the Sabre Jet Race (see Races & Challenges), he and Taylor appear at the bottom right corner of the map, near the entrance to the Interrogation Room Bonus Level.
Taylor
Ability: None Equipment: Pistol Cost: 20,000 studs

Mannequin Man
Ability: none Equipment: none Cost: 10,000 studs
After completing the Doom Town Story Level, return to the demolished Doom Town neighborhood and use the water bottles to extinguish the burning house. (See the "Fire Brigade" Challenge.) A goup of mannequins will attack. When you've fought them all, the Mannequin Man will approach and you can buy him.
Mannequin Woman
Ability: High Jump Equipment: none Cost: 10,000 studs
Same as Mannequin Man, above.
Mannequin Boy
Ability: none Equipment: none Cost: 7,000 studs
Same as Mannequin Man, above.
Mannequin Girl
Ability: High Jump Equipment: none Cost: 7,000 studs
Same as Mannequin Man, above.
