Raiders of the Lost Ark – The Hub Map
The Raiders of the Lost Ark story is not accessible until you've completed the first Story Level in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Part 1. Then the crate on the far left side of the main menu opens to reveal the Raiders playset.
Most of this hub map, which consists of 5 separate islands, is accessible from the start. Just a few areas are off limits for now and will be unlocked as you progress through the story. As in the other hubs, there are plenty of LEGO objects to smash for studs, Colored Bricks to find, and Characters and Vehicles to unlock.
WARNING: There is a potential glitch in this hub that can prevent you from unlocking one character. Do not take the torch mounted on the side of the staircase on the snowy island until you need it to light a campfire. If you take it and then exit the hub before using it, the torch can disappear forever, making it impossible to complete a certain task. If you don't mind spoilers, see here. Otherwise, please just take my word for it.
Level Entrances
As usual, the Story Level entrances are usually indicated by green arrows and Treasure Levels by gold arrows. Bonus Levels are usually hidden. In some cases, you'll need particular Characters or Vehicles to reach them. If you're having trouble figuring out where to go next, check the maps below and/or refer to the Story Level, Treasure Level and Bonus Level introductions.
There is only one Super Bonus Level in each hub. In order to access it you must earn 10 Artifacts by beating each Treasure and Bonus Level. The artifacts are collected in one place on the map. When you have them all, use them to construct the level entrance. For details, see the Super Bonus Level page.
The game introduction includes some helpful notes on replaying levels.

JEEP RACE: Once you've completed the 2nd Story Level, you'll unlock Sallah. Use his shovel to dig the Jeep out of the sand to the right of the 2nd Level entrance, on the big island. Once the Jeep is unburied, you can buy it.
The start of this race is near the camel pen, just below and to the right of where you find the Jeep. Head through the starting gate moving from lower right to upper left. Then follow the course past the market level entrance and across the wooden bridge onto the snowy island. Drive to the right, along the bottom edge of the island, to the finish line, which is located near the little wooden shack.
CAMEL RACE: You'll need a character with explosives to blow up the blue and silver gate to the camel pen. (See the Characters page for help with this.) Once the pen is open, just go in and jump onto a camel. Ride toward the upper left of the big island. You'll find the starting line for this race near the ice cream stand (R2 on the Hub Maps above). Follow the rest of the course down, around to the right and up to the finish line, which is between the small building and the green bridge.
When you cross the finish line, the Bandit Swordsman appears near the camel pen ready to fight your characters. You'll need a character with a sword to beat him. So switch to the Masked Bandit, who can be found near the marketplace entrance. Once you've disarmed and defeated the swordsman, you can then unlock him.
BIPLANE RACE: Once you've unlocked a character with explosives, swim to the island with the Hovitos pyramid, to the upper right of the big island. Blow up the silver chain anchoring the biplane to the beach. Then you can buy it.
To make the starting gate appear, climb the pyramid and turn the crank to rotate the brown structure above. When the flat side with the handrail is facing you, climb up and hang on the handrail to pull it down and release the starting gate for the race (R3 on the Hub Maps above).
Climb down, hop into the plane and fly up and around through the starting gate. You'll want to pass through it heading from the foreground into the background. Then follow the line of studs in the air to find the rest of the gates. The next one is just ahead and to the left. The course then continues left over the ocean, then down past the domed buildings on the big island, and finally on to the finish line over the snowy island.
Beating this race unlocks Captain Katanga. He appears in front of the Hovitos temple.
SPEEDBOAT RACE: The blue and green speedboats are docked on the upper left side of the island with the Hovitos temple. After unlocking the Hovitos Tribesman (see Characters), use him to throw spears into the 2 sockets on the side of the blue winch. Hang on both spears to make the winch drop the brown container. Use the LEGO bits inside the crate to build motors for the speedboats. After that, you can purchase them.
Hop into either boat and drive through the starting gate, which is just above where the boats are anchored (R4 on the Hub Maps above). Then follow the line of studs in the water to locate each subsequent gate. The first 2 gates are just above and to the left of the start. Head into the background to find the third, then turn right to clear the fourth and head back toward the start to clear the fifth gate and then straight to the right to the finish line. When you win this race, Satipo appears in front of the pyramid and you can unlock him.
FLYING WING BALLOON CHALLENGE: You won't be able to unlock the Flying Wing until you've finished all 5 Story Levels and unlocked the Belloq (Priest) character. Use him to enter the barbed-wire enclosure on the big island. (See the Characters page info on finding Belloq and the Bonus Level intro page for details on opening the gate.) Once you're able to get inside the compound, you can unlock the Flying Wing (marked V3 and R5 on the Hub Maps above).
Get on board and fly around popping the red-and-white balloons hovering above the islands. You can do this by shooting them (press Attack to fire the plane's guns) or flying into them. There are 5 balloons in all. The screenshots below show their locations.
When you've popped all 5 balloons, the Enemy Boxer appears near the Flying Wing landing strip. Bail out of the plane, fight the boxer and you'll then be able to unlock him.
Miscellaneous
(Click any of the screenshots below to enlarge.)
ICE CREAM STAND: After completing the 3rd Story Level, you can find a giant snowball at the foot of the stairs on the snowy island. Carry the snowball across the bridge onto the big island. Place it in the hopper on the side of the ice cream stand and the machine will create an endless supply of ice cream cones, which you can then use as projectiles. If you throw them at the big cones on the front of the ice cream stand, they'll light up and release studs. This doesn't unlock anything useful but, hey, who doesn't like ice cream? ;)
CARNIVAL GAME: To the right of the camel pen is a carnival game that's missing a few parts. Head to the left and look for a palm tree with a coconut lying beneath it. Grab the coconut, switch characters and punch the tree to make it drop a 2nd coconut. Carry them back to the game and attach them to it. You'll find the 3rd and 4th missing coconuts near other similar palm trees. Check the screenshots below if you're having trouble finding them.
Once you've replaced all 4 missing coconuts, pick up the bottles on the ground and throw them at the game. As you smash the coconuts, items appear on the barker's table. Some, like the light saber and blaster, can be useful. The others are just cheap carnival prizes.
