Last Crusade – Treasure Level 4: Canyon Quest

LEVEL ENTRANCE: This is a vehicle level, so you can play using any characters. The entrance is the same as the 4th Story Level, except the army tank is no longer blocking the opening. So all you need to do is step through the doorway at the top left corner of the desert island. (Check the Hub Maps and Treasure Level Intro for visuals.)

This level takes place on the same terrain as the Cannon Canyon Story Level. As in previous vehicle-based Treasure levels, instead of crashing into enemies you need to find and pop 10 blue balloons to get the Artifact. The location of each balloon is shown in the screenshots below. Naturally you don't have to pop them in the same order I did.

There are several different vehicles available—more if you unlock them on the hub map—but you really only need the Jeep to get them all. It's parked in the clearing below the starting point. You'll also find green and orange vehicle powerups here and there, but none of them are required to reach the balloons.

In order to achieve 100% completion in the game, you'll also need to unlock "True Adventurer" by collecting 125,000 studs. This isn't too hard here, especially with one or two treasure multiplying Extras turned on. There are also purple studs near two of the balloons (included in the screenshots below). When going after the studs along the cliff side, you may want to get out of your vehicle and gather them on foot.

Here is a list of all balloon locations. Here the "upper," "middle" and "lower" levels refer to the three wide plateaus that make up this area. The upper level is the one just below the starting point. Check the screenshot version of this walkthrough if you're having trouble locating any of them.

• Balloon #1 - At the top of the stone ramp just below where the Jeep is parked when you begin the level.
• Balloon #2 - On the upper level, just to the left of the opening between the starting area and the wider clearing. Note the purple stud hovering near it.
• Balloon #3 - On the road leading from the upper level down to the middle one. Use the wooden ramp to reach it.
• Balloon #4 - On the middle level, just below and to the right of balloon #3. Race up the stone ramp near the speed powerup to pop the balloon.
• Balloon #5 - Also on the middle level. Drive from left to right along the ledge to the right of balloon #3 and above #4. Then run up the angled rock to reach the balloon.
• Balloon #6 - On the right side of the middle level. Drive up the hill to get above it. Then head downhill and jump off the stone ramp to pop the balloon.
• Balloon #7 - On the left side of the lower level. Drive or run up the boulder to reach it.
• Balloon #8 - Also on the lower level, just to the right of balloon #7. Race up the stone ramp with the studs to pop it.
• Balloon #9 - Hovering above the campfire on the right side of the lower level. Use the wooden ramp to reach it.
• Balloon #10 - At the top of the winding road that runs along the right edge of the map, leading from the lower level up to the middle one. Drive to the top. Then race up the sloping rock, popping the balloon and collecting the cluster of purple and blue studs in the process.

When you pop the last balloon, the Artifact appears in a small cave at the back of the middle level. The camera briefly zooms in on its location. Just touch it to finish the level.
