LEVEL ENTRANCE: You'll need both a character with the Academic ability and one with Security Clearance to open this bonus level. Return to the courtyard with the 3rd Level entrance, above and to the right of Castle Brunwald. Use the scholar to solve the hieroglyph puzzle in the courtyard and open the gate. Go around behind the zeppelin and use the soldier character to knock at the guard post. The guard will then open the door to the Quonset hut so you can enter the level. (Check the Hub Maps and/or Bonus Level Intro for details.)

Large Underground Bunker with Lava

Use Indy's whip to pull the orange ring and raise a ramp so he and Sallah can jump onto the ledge above. Smash the plants for studs. Then use Sallah's shovel to dig up the buried section of checkerboard tiles. Push the brown box to the other end of the tiles. With the box out of the way, the laser beam strikes the mirror, causing a set of steps to rise out of the lava pool to the right.

Whip the orange ring to raise the ramp.		Use it to reach the ledge above.
Switch to Sallah and dig out the buried checkerboard tiles.		Push the box out of the laser's path.
When the laser hits the mirror, a set of stairs rises out of the lava. Hop down to the area on the right.

Hop down the steps and fight 4 soldiers in the open area below. If you can manage to pick up one of the pistols they drop, use it to shoot the fifth soldier on the ledge to the left. Otherwise, dig the ladder out of the sparkling patch at the base of the ledge, climb up and hit the soldier.

Pick up the sword he leaves behind and throw it to cut the cable on the far right. This opens the gate in the back left corner. Run in and fight 2 more soldiers there.

Once the coast is clear, you can take some time to break up the foliage and gather studs. Don't miss the blue and gold studs along the base of the wall in the foreground and the purple stud hidden behind the ledge near the ladder.

Fight the 4 soldiers in the open area.		Try to grab one of the pistols they drop. . .
. . . and use it to shoot the soldier on the ledge to the left.		Or, dig the ladder out of the base of the ledge, climb up and smack that soldier.
Pick up the sword the soldier leaves behind. . .		. . . and throw it to cut the cable on the right.
This opens the gate below. Run in and fight 2 more soldiers there.		After the fight, gather studs, including a purple one behind the ledge near the ladder.

Now to move on. Pull the lever to the left of the gate to activate a laser beam in the little niche nearby. Take the 2 spears—one on the ledge where you got the sword, one in the alcove behind the gate—and throw them into the 2 sockets on the right wall. Use them to reach the ledge with the second lever and pull it to turn on another laser in the same niche as the first.

Pull the lever next to the gate to activate the first laser beam.		Grab a spear from the alcove behind the gate. . .
. . . and another from the ledge where you found the sword.		Throw the spears into the 2 sockets on the right wall.
Climb up and pull the second lever to turn on another laser beam.

Switch to Indy if you aren't already controlling him and whip the orange ring in the back right corner. This lowers one of the 2 gray platforms just to the left. Hop onto it and whip the second orange ring to lower the second platform. Hop up to the third lever and pull it to activate the third laser beam. When all three lasers are on, the fan just to the left of them turns on.

Whip the orange ring on the right side of the alcove behind the gate.		Jump onto the gray platform and whip the orange ring on the left.
Hop up onto the high ledge and pull the lever to activate the third laser and turn on the fan.

Ride the fan breeze up to the ledge above and whip the orange ring there to raise an L-shaped platform in the lava pool below. Hop down and cross this platform to the alcove in the background. Pull the lever there to activate a set of moving platforms above.

Return to the right and ride the fan breeze back to the ledge above. From there, you can jump carefully across the moving platforms as they extend outward. Take your time crossing so you don't fall into the lava. On the far left, beyond the fourth platform is the ledge with the Artifact. Ride the fourth platform toward the background and then jumping across to get the treasure chest and end the level.

Ride the updraft onto the ledge and whip yet another orange ring to extend an L-shaped platform in the lava.		Hop across and pull another lever to activate the moving platforms above.
Again use the fan to reach the ledge above. Now jump across the moving platforms to the left.		Ride the fourth platform toward the background and jump over to the Artifact.
